1. The system itself (one-time)
Equipment and installation: from J$522,000 for an entry 6kW installed system to J$2.93M for whole-home setups from BTECH’s Ocho Rios stock. This is the only substantial cost solar involves.
2. Grid interconnection (grid-tie only, one-time)
Connecting to JPS under net billing involves an application process with associated administrative costs; your installer manages it. Off-grid systems skip this entirely.
3. Occasional upkeep (small, infrequent)
Panel cleaning a few times a year (free if you do it), and a periodic professional inspection to keep connections tight and protection healthy. No fuel. No moving parts. No service contracts required.
